Amazon’s New Kindle Fire

I couldn’t help myself, I had to see what all the fuss was about the New Kindle Fire. I’ve got to admit it’s more tech equipped than I am and that isn’t saying much. In fact, my grandkids are more tech savvy as the computer games they play are way beyond my comprehension.

What got me looking at the Kindle is the love of my life is interested in them, after all she is a devoted reader of books. So I’m thinking to myself, that would make a nice gift for her (keep it under your hat).

While looking them over, the Kindle Fire takes the lead as the next best item to having a mini computer. This devise will allow you to surf the web, watch your favorite movies, or take your office with you. The question one needs to ask is how connected do you want to be.

Hello Universe, While reading over some FP’s Freshly Pressed today I became aware of a couple of things. First off, I was enjoying the creative dialog of others and thought to myself, “wish I had talent like that”. Then my thoughts drifted off to my blog and couldn’t help wonder what is missing…other than the fact I haven’t been at this for very long and that my job keeps me from getting postings out into the Universe on a regular basis. It would be nice to post once a day, but then I’m not that committed to blogging.

What’s interesting about blogging is that it’s like a therapy. Come to think about it, it’s a very badly needed therapy. Not just the writing my blog but reading what others have to say and interacting with them by commenting on their blog. I look forward to having others comment on my postings, like WordPress Support says, it takes time, persistence and patients. It’s the interaction with positive and creative people that makes the magic.

So, how’s this connect with the Long Term Effects? Glad you asked, no really, it’s a combination of location, job, and life challenges. In today’s economic dilemma, more and more people are falling victim to bureaucratic negligence. I’ve decided not to go into all the negative issues so many are faced with due to the karma Gods. My own challenges are different from most but the long-term has an effect.

You see, I live in what’s known as a Rain Forest. It’s called a rainforest for a reason. Yep, everything is green due to great climate control. The humidity and moisture are constant for nine months. Not to complain but we see about two months of sunshine. After living here for near 30 years it’s the lack of sunshine that has an effect. Add to that the Profession I have taken up. I know, I know, it was my choice and I have to live with it, believe me I’m looking forward to retirement, but working in the Prison system for near 30 yrs. is a lot of negativity that keeps compounding year in and year out. Point being, all those years of climate without sunshine, surrounded with a negative work environment and a dash of health issues has its toll.

To release or shed the Negative one has to have resources to draw from. One has to find alternative sources to take their mind off the negative implications. Creative activities, sports, performing arts, socializing with positive influences, all poses the power to help one return to a suitable reality. The key is to find one that interest you and start working with it daily or as often as time will allow. For me, I kayak in the Straits of Juan De Fuca, ride a mountain bike in the Olympic National Forest, Photography and now Blog.

Is it helping? I like to think so, but you tell me…I think I am. I know it’s helping to talk to others who demonstrate abilities in being positive. That is Key

Looking back I often thought I had an awesome childhood, or did I? Granted I had everything a child could ever want or need during that time frame. If you ever saw the movie “The Sandlot” or the program series of “Happy Days,” You would have a general idea of my childhood as a teenager raised in a small community.

It’s was a time contingency where Drive-In theaters were the hit, school was a drag, Television was developing into color and American Bandstand was the cutting edge of dance. Ed Sullivan’s show was the launching pad for new talent. Gasoline was at about 12 cents a gallon with gas wars bring it down to 4 cents a gallon. Calculators, weren’t allowed in school and the fancy equipment we have today didn’t exist. Due to the war effort Posters of Uncle Sam Wants You and the military draft were a reality.

We were taught all the basics in school, our ethics came from parental guidance and our religious cultures. Our social encounters involved scouting, 4-H, church youth groups, or hanging out at the local Cafe’.

After it’s all said and done, I was raised in a pretty protected environment in a small community where everyone knew you, your parents and everything about your business. Was no stone left unturned. On the other hand could over protection have an adverse effect?

The military experience was my first exposure to the real world without the protection domination factor. Later, college and living the bachelor life or sharing an apartment with friends.

It wasn’t until I went to work for the Department of Corrections and experienced several years dealing with drug addiction, mental illness, psychotic disorders, and criminally deranged behavior patterns, that I began looking within at the long term effects. After several years of this and observing military personal experiencing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) compounded with life challenges. Ones outlook on life in general changes. It’s through a conglomeration that we change in behavior and thought processes. When this occurs we establish a new normal, several times in ones life-time.

In conclusion, and through observations of how we raise our children in today’s standards. Wouldn’t it be beneficial to give them the tools to succeed? Teach them more than the three R’s. Teach them using the Rich Dad – Poor Dad games.

I know, I know, that would require some changes in how families raise their children, who live in poverty, hate, ridicule, and even homeless or abandoned. Wouldn’t it be an awesome world if we could eliminate all the negative life style…

Maybe, someday this will be a dream come true and we will all learn to live in harmony.

I went for an outing this morning. Paddling through the kelp beds west of Freshwater Bay. It helps me to think, these moments in time experiencing solitude during the early morning hours.

On the surface, one would think that the kelp beds are some form of garbage or waste if you prefer. The truth is Kelp is very useful, it is a food source. Yes, a permit required to harvest food source.

My thoughts moved on to the full-time job in Corrections and all the negative issues connected to that line of work, the Garbage, the waste. So, what has this have to do with Ethics.

We work and deal with garbage on a daily basis even though we may not recognize it for what it really is. Working in Corrections, is like working in a Negative Environmental Magnet that really drains ones mental well-being. With todays economics people, good people who have worked, scrimped and saved for what they have are losing everything due to the economy. More garbage to deal with. The point is, this is not the place to dump your garbage. I know, I know, this is my blog and I’m the one bringing garbage into this discussion. Just hear me out, if you read this far the closing is near.

The question is; How do you post a positive discussion when the sky is falling? For me I go kayaking in coastal waters, or trail biking or hiking in the mountains of the Olympic Peninsula. All of which require me to focus on what I’m doing as one could get into serious trouble in a short period of time. The other thing it does is allow me to think about things like this article. Are you ready for the punch line?

The blog, my blog is a form of reaching out to another reality. By networking with like-minded people I have discovered a renewal in life, developing friendships with positive people and sharing ideas and strategies has given me a whole new out-look on life. It’s so refreshing to be working toward building a social colony that has the potential of creating income. The real reward is in the relationships and positive energy we create and build on from one-another, I invite you to jump in and give it a try. Omg, that reminds me of those college-days so long ago (that’s another article).

I invite you to give it a try. Follow me, comment, add me to your favorite list.

Hello, and welcome to Work From Home 101. I’m Ron Armacost and what I have to share with you is some of the experiences encountered while learning and developing business strategies that led me to mass confusion with little income. What drew me to seek networking was the Internet and residual income. As retirement grows near I’ve come to realize that I have no desire to greet customers at Wal-Mart or any other mediocre type of work. To be true to self and honest to my readers, I would rather go out and play, in fact I think we all should be able to follow our desires when we retire.

This is not a get rich quick scheme, network marketing requires attention to details, learning by doing, developing strategies and trial and error. By keeping on top of the game in new developments and persistence one will develop income. Promising large income is not ethical and should raise red flags. Networking in social media is the accepted professional practice. The product is of little importance, what is, is what you are passionate about and learning from the leaders in this industry.

Now you maybe wondering how can Networking and Ethics work as one after all the bad media about pyramid schemes, MLM Multi-level-Marketing, and those arrogant High-Pressure sales people. Great question! In all honesty, about 98% of them failed, quit or gave up. Others have moved on and got an education in what does work. This blog is a work in progress in developing strategies and promoting social media programs designed for the teacher and the student. In essence we learn by doing. Yes, taking Action is required.

So how do you turn your passion into income through networking? Like any net-worker will tell you, it’s in the list. List building is key and you build it in the social media arena by connecting with like-minded people. This has the advantage of 1. building a warm market list and 2. it cost is in time, if you have the money to spend there are several marketing systems out there to take your cash. I’d rather learn by doing and develop a warm market of followers.

The advantage is in learning the dos and don’t s of the system while creating a blog and building a following. In time the option of moving on to a Pro Blog where you can set up your marketing strategy and through suggestion or recommendations your followers will take action. Many go on to write books and market them, others build libraries of photos and sell the rights for use in stock photography. Garage sales show up on auction sites like Ebay, while others get involved in affiliate marketing simply by sending the buyer to third-party sites.
